“Lucy’s Terrace” (2009)
Synopsis: “Lucy’s Terrace” experimentally documents an urban retreat. Comprised of optically-printed handmade frames, the film features plants gleaned from my neighbor’s terrace: blue-eyed grass, boxwood, cinquefoil, clematis, rose, salvia, valerian, and verbena. The music, from contemporary composer David Froom, and used with his permission, features my neighbor, classical flautist Lucy Goeres.
Screenings: Milwaukee Underground Film Festival; Iowa City Documentary Film Festival; “Techniques of the Observer,” New Delhi and Mumbai, India; Mixed Messages Invitational Media Show, New York City: awarded Special Recognition for Artistic Practice.
